People finders
The people finder is an unbelievably user-friendly tool that will help you to get back in touch with one of your old classmates - just by typing in his or her first and last name !
What to do first
The system works for anyone who has sent their email address to the Alumni Association. Think about updating your profile by contacting Annick Drouet (00 33 01 53 77 23 31 or annuaire@mailhec.com)
It's easy
Pierre, a HEC Group graduate, wants to contact his classmate Jacques but doesn't know where to find him. Pierre decides to write an email, using the HEC protocol (jacques.dupont@mailhec.com). [This is a rerouting address and cannot be consulted from a private off-system mailbox].
Pierre's email is then transferred to Jacques's personal address as stated in the Association database (if the personal address doesn't exist or is incorrectly listed, the email will be transferred to the recipient's work address).
Jacques receives Pierre's email at his home (or work) address and can see right away that he is being contacted by a HEC Group graduate, since the sender appears as pierre.durand@mailhec.com
The basic rules for the people finder are :
- General addresses are written thusly : first name.name@mailhec.com
- Everything is written in lower case
- No accents are used
- Compound first and last names are separated by a dash
- All dashes, apostrophes or spaces are replaced by dashes

This makes it easy to stay in touch with anyone from the HEC community - but the same is true for everyone else!
